Beer Fest
TWO Americans get shamed up at the Munich beer festival when they fail to keep up with the large bellied locals. It seems the Europeans are much better at downing high strength lager than the holidaying Yanks.
They vow to get into training and return the following year to scoop a prestigious beer swigging prize at a secret lager drinking contest. Jokes revolve around getting drunk – which tends to be funnier to participate in rather than watch, as is the case here.
Snow Cake
Alan Rickman and Sigourney Weaver star. Slow paced, it tells the story of a hitchhiker killed in a car accident, and the driver heading to meet the family as a way to redeem his guilt.
It is a suitably moody performance from Rickman, and Weaver has won plaudits for her portrayal of the autistic mum of the deceased. |
