Latino legends rock on
REVIEW - EL GRAN SILENCO
Trafalgar Square
THEIR first album went gold, the second platinum and the third went gold and was also nominated for a prestigious Grammy award. Mexican super-group El Gran Silencio pulled a huge crowd in Trafalgar Square on Friday at Ken Livingstone’s free London-Caracas gig.
But other than among London’s Latino population, the band are barely known.
They have been going for 14 years and have developed their own eclectic sound that combines rap, rock, Cumbia and traditional Ranchero music.
They were followed by top Venezuelan Ska band Desorden Publico who gave an equally awesome performance.
