Demo of the Week - Mr Hudson & The Library
IT’S 1969. The Beatles. They’re on the roof. On the Roof of the Abbey Road Studios.
Hang on a minute – no it isn’t. It’s actually Mr Hudson, Kentish Town native, on the roof of the popular Kentish Town Road hairdressers Flaxton P’tooch. About a month ago, doing a rooftop performance to rival the world’s most famous gig.
On his myspace page, www.myspace.com/mrhudson, there’s even a song – Ask the DJ – from the traffic stopping afternoon.
Mr H, aka Ben, and his band The Library, are a dance act with a difference, thanks to Ben’s lyrics – and the big labels know it. Three months ago a scrum ensued from which Mercury emerged victorious, twirling Mr H’s hat and spitting teeth at the losers.
His debut EP, Bread and Roses, is out October 14 on Deal Real Recordings.
