The Review - AT THE MOVIES with WILLIAM HALL Published: 16 August 2007

IF Sunday is your day of rest, then a trip to the National Film Theatre to catch Triumph of the Will may be just a little too taxing. The 1934 Nazi German-made documentary about the superior prowess of the Aryan master race is not only tiring due to the energetic blondes prancing round Nuremburg, it also horribly frightening. The power of propaganda is carefully, though unconsciously, mapped out.
Lighter offerings this week include the chance to discover the secrets behind Morph, everyone’s favourite piece of plasticine. Film-goers are offered the chance to learn how to make your own squidgy chum as the Curzon Soho hosts the London International Animation Festival. The festival includes masterclassses on hand-made animation techniques.
And for those who have yet to see it, McLibel, the story of the postman and gardener who took on McDonald’s and won, is screened at the BFI on the Southbank.
