Demo of the week - LOLA

OK, here’s a clap for the most shameless title to a track that’s ever landed on the DoTW mat – Lola and No Strings (Let’s Have Sex).
“I don’t even know you and I don’t even care – baby let’s do it right here,” she warbles seductively.
And worse. She says of her debut single: “It’s not a call to behave promiscuously; it’s just a particular feeling I’m sure everybody has at some point.”
Not really a demo at all, it’s already spent five months in the American club chart, before catching the ear of Pete Waterman, “legendary purveyor of the very finest in pop music” (erm, according to the press release).
I don’t know if it will yank the uptight Brits by the er, eardrums in the same way it did the easygoing Yanks, but she’s on a mission.
She explains: “I ended up feeling like I was doing a public service and providing catharsis to everybody, especially women.”
Lola doesn’t just want us to Salt ’n’ Pepa it (talk), she wants us to do. Racy lady.
