Now’s your chance to shine at Roundhouse
PREVIEW: ROUNDHOUSE BAND NIGHT Roundhouse
YOU. You sing on a wall with your friends, but secretly you know you’re better than them. Maybe you’ve abused too many hairbrushes. Or maybe you don’t sing at all, but you’re a damn fine drummer.
Either way, if you’re in a group, or you know someone who is, or you’re just a one-man-band, you need to record a demo and send it in to the Roundhouse.
If you’re selected through to their Band Night event, you’ll get the chance to perform in front a live audience made up of your fellow musicians.
The cream of the crop will be talent-scouted by the Roundhouse honchos who could then ask you to open a show on the main stage for a big star – the Beastie Boys, The Stranglers and KT Tunstall are just some of the performers coming up.
Last Thursday they held their R’n’B and hip hop night. This week it’s the turn of rock’n’rollers, indie heads and the folkier types, and next Thursday will see soul, jazz and ‘world’ musicians pay the studios a visit.
You may be too late to take part this time, but if you don’t send a demo, you’ll never get to see the inside of the green room.
