The Review > Demo of the Week > Mexico

When you think of Mexico you think of Mariachi’s (those sombrero-wearing, guitar-strumming singers), chihuahuas and tortillas. Tequila maybe.
People like Thelma and Louise dream of crossing the border to get away from the cops, but they’ll be no one skidadlling from their gigs.
A kind of tinny emo sound – which means “emotional” punk rock by the way – they’ve got tunes in the bag.
There’s an echoey and reverberating epicness to their music which goes down well.
Maybe I’m a bit of a grouch to point out they can be a little boring – it’s a tad whiney.
But hey-ho, they’re a lot better than the average, and much cheaper than a trip to the real thing.
