MUSICAL - TOMORROW MORNING
New End Theatre

THANKS to Robbie Williams, we know what it means to sing when you’re winning and now this musical, by Laurence Mark Wythe, we know what it means to sing when you’re whinging.
Tomorrow Morning is in equal turns modernly mundane and daringly innovative. Overflowing onto the tiny stage at this prestigious Hampstead venue are two couples on the verge of life-changing events.
John (Stephen Ashfield) and Kat (Emma Williams) are a fresh-faced, blond, 20-something couple who are to marry in the morning, while disillusioned, brunette, forty-something couple Jack (Alistair Robins) and Catherine (Annette McLaughlin) will be heading to their solicitor’s office to sign their divorce papers.
Tomorrow Morning’s numbers are generally fast-paced and dynamic as we are wonderfully reeled in at the beginning as the four cast members introduce the play with Everything Changes.
Catherine and Jack sing about what can go wrong in the bedroom when your partner isn’t “in the mood” with The Time is Coming.
The concept of writing about everyday life in a musical is a breath of fresh air, but hearing complaints about not being able to write a wedding speech, being too fat to fit into a bridal gown or staying together for the sake of the child, in song after song, got tedious quickly.
