Tell Them Who You Are
IMAGINE a film starring Michael Douglas, Billy Crystal, Jane Fonda, Paul Newman, George Lucas, Martin Sheen, Julia Roberts and Sidney Poitier. And what’s more, they are all playing themselves.
There is no doubt Tell Them Who You Are has an attractive cast, and has an interesting storyline.
The biographical documentary was crafted by Mark Wexler, the son of cinematographer Haskell Wexler.
Wexler Senior was nominated for Oscars five times, winning twice and worked on One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest and Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Wolf?
Wexler Junior is occasionally unkind, and appears at times to sneer at his father’s liberal beliefs: but that makes this film complex. And his father frailties, which Mark makes obvious, only shores up the viewers sympathy.

• Kentish Town film director Ken Loach may find his film on the Irish troubles ‘The Wind That Shakes The Barley’ will be seen by a wider audience – after scooping the prestigious Palme D’Or trophy at the Cannes Film Festival.
It had originally been planned to be shown at around 40 cinemas through Britain – but after his surprise success, a spokesman for his production company say they hope to talk to distributors to put it in to main stream cinemas.
