Still time to enter new talent awards
Calling all unsigned bands! Calling all unsigned bands!
If you’re a group or a solo act who write your own material and are over 18, you can enter the Fopp Award for New Music 2006 competition.
And any genre can apply, so if you play spoons or yodel, hey, don’t feel marginalised.
On the deciding panel are industry bigwigs, including music bible Music Week’s talent editor Stuart Clarke, a Universal Publishing big cheese and Parlophone A&R man Jimmy Smith.
So if you’re living on supermarket own-brand value pasta, here’s your chance to win free studio time, performances at big events and the opportunity to sell your CDs at Fopp.
Although the deadline is Friday May 26, the organisers have promised they will consider demos until the end of the month. Apply online at www.fopp.co.uk or pop into a store to pick up a form.
