Crawl cracker gets an encore At Proud
PREVIEW: LAURA MARLING At Proud
FOLK heroine Laura Marling will have the audience at her feet by the end of her Proud set if her recent gig at the Camden Crawl is anything to go by. Marling is a strange mix of alien, child-woman and steely vixen, her songs as beguiling as they are riveting, with a heady dose of stomping country barn-dance to jolly things along.
In what is billed as a folk/spoken word event, Daze should be a fantastic new addition to Proud’s already impressive residencies.
Other highlights on the night will be the Rumble Strips aftershow party – will they play? The Devon trio specialising in quirky indie with glasses have been on an ever-increasing trajectory… you don’t get an official after-party for just nothing you know!
* Laura Marling plays At Proud on Tuesday May 29
