PREVIEW: LONDON FESTIVAL OF CONTEMPORARY CHURCH MUSIC

ST Pancras

THE London Festival of Contemporary Church Music opens at St Pancras Parish Church on Saturday.
The festival brings together excellent musicians, with the Choir of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, performing in the opening concert, and organist Paul Ayres comes on Monday to perform new music inspired by Handel. They also have their own celebration of W H Auden, with baritone and pianist Stephen Rose performing settings of his poems.
On Wednesday there is the London College of Music String Orchestra performing Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasillieras.
The festival runs until May 20. Go to www.stpancraschurch.org for more details.
