Demo of the Week – Apartment / Far Cries

DOTW quality control does not just consist of the music.
While The Vibrants quirky CD cover – a round white plastic number – won me over a few weeks ago, the current crop of dirty and broken cases aren’t cutting the mustard. At least write your name on the cover, Apartment and Far Cries, or how will I know whose epic unsettling wonderland I’m in until I eject the CD.
Apartment have been knocking about since last year, and recently ratcheted up a number 75 on the charts with Everyone Says I’m Paranoid. They supported The Bravery and The Killers last year, toured with pals Boy Kill Boy, and sold out the Dublin Castle when they headlined.
They have just released an EP with Far Cries on their own label, Fleet Street Records. Catch them at the Luminaire on Friday.
I reckon there’ll be a host of label interest for support act Dirty Little Faces too.
