North Camden Chorus provide a fine and varied performance
REVIEW - NORTH CAMDEN CHORUS AND ORCHESTRA
St Mary Brookfield By DAVID COLLINS
AN enthusiastic audience was treated to a varied programme
of music from the North Camden Chorus and solo performances
from a young flautist and soprano.
The choir was on very good form, singing with obvious enjoyment
and vigour under the direction of conductor Neil Bowman. The
orchestra which accompanied the Bach Cantata had only met for
the final rehearsal, but provided a flawless performance. The
Vaughan Williams songs and Bruckner motet were accompanied
with great skill by organist, Mark Denza.
The vocal soloists gave polished and sensitive performances.
Because of Neil Bowmans long association with music in
Camden schools, the NCC concerts have always been a showcase
for musical talent for past and present students.
The North Camden Chorus is a true community choir. It welcomes
all ages and all levels of musical experience. There are no
auditions and the emphasis is on enjoyment in singing and working
towards a public performance.
