Barnes is great value at Spice
PREVIEW: ALAN BARNES
Spice Of Life
ALAN Barnes has long been considered at the forefront of British jazz and this week he will be appearing in the Spice of Life with his quartet.
Barnes has for more than 30 years entertained audiences with his driving and inspiring bop, echoing the Blue Note recordings of the 1960s.
But as a saxophonist he is more than that, recognised in having won the BBC Jazz Award for Best Instrumentalist in 2006.
Again, we see the Spice of Life booking the best in British jazz at affordable prices.
And at just £8 for a standard ticket for hours of entertainment in a great venue, the value stands excellent comparison against other jazz venues, cinemas and football matches.
