Mozart will melt your hearts
PREVIEW - MOZART
Hampstead Parish Church
WHAT a birthday for Mozart.
We are enjoying his legacy 250 years after his birth and
all his greatest works are being performed and practically every
venue in the capital is taking notice and marking the occasion.
Two are being paraded this weekend and for a clarinettist there
are few more satisfying Mozart works than his Clarinet Concerto.
The musician is Peter Cigleris, who has won the Jerwood foundation
Scholarship with the Orchestra in the Age of Enlightenment
perhaps Britains leading period ensemble.
He will play a period bassett clarinet providing an authentic
timbre.
Add Schuberts Symphony no 5 a man never happy with
chords when a lyrical and poignant melody would do and
even the stoniest hearts will be satisfied.
