Pick of
the indies
Diameter Of The Bomb
Reconstruction of a tragedy makes for compelling viewing
in this feature which is based on a true story.
On June 18, 2002, a suicide-bomber blew up a bus in Jerusalem.
The dead numbered 20 and 50 were injured. Exponentially, those
whose lives were affected by the bomb were in the thousands.
Family members are interviewed as well as survivors, many of
whom are alive because the person next to them in the bus took
the brunt of the blast themselves.
Diameter of The Bombs detailed documentation of this now
sadly common tragedy is both shocking and heartbreaking, trolling
the aftermath of the bombs wake and tallying its cost
in human emotional terms.
Filmmakers Steven Silver and Andrew Quigley also interview those
who knew the 22-year-old bomber Mohammed Al Ghoul. His mother
is proud of him, adding that this is the only power her people
have.
Although the soundtrack is a bit inappropriate perhaps
trying to make the film more exciting and tense than it is
this is a must-see for anyone who thinks man is an island and
that our actions do not affect anyone but ourselves.
