Demo of the Week - The Vibrants
FIRST thing about this demo that stands out – it’s
shaped like a disc… which I thought was quite cool.
But I’m not influenced by such trivia.
Although their debut EP is a rock-filled four-track, the best
song by far is New Way.
Thumping drums are snapped at by a chippy guitar, all driven
along by throaty frontman Giles Farnham, with this cool echoey
bit in the middle.
With no offence to anyone the Baywatch theme kept popping into
my head.
An unsigned five-piece from London, The Vibrants so impressed
ex-Oasis svengali Alan McGee that he stuck them on as headliners
at his clubnight.
