In the wings
* PETER O’Toole’s son Lorcan plays Lord Byron in a drama retelling the turbulent story of the life and love of the Romantic poets.
The story focuses on John Keats’s romance with Fanny Brawne.
Their love story is told at Upstairs at the Gatehouse, an historic pub where Keats himself downed a few jars I am told, from March 31.
* T S Eliot’s Murder in the Cathedral is performed in St Paul’s the Actor’s Church in Covent Garden.
Iris Theatre, with graduate actors from Central St Martin’s, present a professional West End production. The troupe aim to bring performance into the city churches. The show runs until March 31.
* Howard Goodall and Renata Allen’s present a story of ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances set in the Spanish Civil War.
Goodall’s stage musicals have been performed throughout the world to great acclaim.
Days of Hope runs for a six-week season until April 22 at the King’s Head. |
