Pizarro’s
series finishes
AFTER performing in a series of concerts since last September,
celebrated pianist Artur Pizarro (pictured) is reaching the
end of his mammoth Debussy and Ravel cycle with a concert at
St John’s Smith Square this week.
He sat on his piano stool in September to play the entire canon
of Debussy and Ravel solo piano pieces. So we have had Debussy’s
delightful Arabesques, Image oubliees and Ravel’s Menuet
sur le nom d’Haydn.
Thursday’s concert features 12 Debussy Etudes and Ravel’s
Le Tombeau de Couperin and La Valse and brings to an end the
series.
