Chance to
dance your guilt away
REVIEW - GUILTY PLEASURES
Koko By Jane Wild
GUILTY Pleasures, a new monthly night at KOKO, does
exactly what it says on the tin it gives you songs youve
been too embarassed to tell anyone you love.
On Saturday a sweaty dance floor was filled to capacity
with 1,600 revellers, who had paid £15 to dance unashamedly
to the likes of Olivia Newton John, David Essex and Van Halen.
The crowd of 20 to 30-somethings jubilantly sang along to Jarvis
Cockers set, while DJ Sean Rowley who started the
whole thing on his radio show a few years ago bopped
round his decks in his cowboy outfit, looking like he was having
more fun than they were.
Camden should be proud that it can boast another huge night
of indulgent music following the demise of the Forums
House of Fun night.
And any boys on the pull, take note this is one club
where girls outnumber you.
