EVERYONE’S favourite Irish guitar-punk band Ash play King’s College next Thursday, just two days after their former girl guitarist Charlotte Hatherley packs out the Islington Academy.
Shame I only ever listened to the 1977 album (which is more than 10 years old, cripes!), but I’d go just to hear Kung Fu.
But generally this month and next, King’s College in Victoria has the most amazing line-up of gigs.
The Pigeon Detectives play on Monday, Mando Diao – who sound like they should be Latin, but are actually a very good Swedish band – are on the day after.
The Hours are on later in the month, while ShitDisco play in April and The Noisettes are on in May. If you want to check out dates, prices, have a look at www.kclsu.org/whatson_gigs.php
And of course, I couldn’t leave out the Camden Crawl, which stretches out over two days for the first time this year – which means woohoo for us and a few more kebab wrappers in the kerb to the rest.
As usual, a motley crew of fresh new talent has been unveiled, but it’s the big names announced on the day that always excite.
Often doing their most intimate gigs in years, previous Crawls have seen Graham Coxon and Supergrass playing unannounced shows at the Dublin Castle in Parkway. Get your tickets now!
