GHOST RIDER

SO who is this crazy dude on a motorcycle hurtling across the screen as if the hounds of Hades are after him? The bike is on fire, his head is a blazing skull, and he leaves a trail of fire scorching the tarmac behind him.
It’s not Evel Knievel on speed, or some Hell’s Angel burning up the A1, but the latest vigilante from Marvel Comics – one Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage), a stunt ace who has foolishly agreed to become the “living host of a spirit of vengeance” to save the life of his girlfriend (Eva Mendes).
At night he becomes Ghost Rider, complete with flaming skull and Harley Davidson wheels.
He-e-re’s Johnny! “I’m the only one who can walk in both worlds!” he announces, taking his place alongside X-Men, the Crow, Darkman and other notable action comic heroes as he sets out to vanquish his arch enemy Blackheart (Wes Bentley), a power-hungry baddie who believes he’s the son of the devil himself.
Nicolas Cage makes an unlikely superhero, but he is tormented enough in his double identity to win our sympathy. This is spectacular hokum, with stunning effects. Be sure of one thing: here is a hot-shot you don’t argue with if you see him coming at you on a dark night. You might get your fingers burned.
