Keeping jazz alight
PREVIEW - COURTNEY PINE
Jazz Café
HE may be something of an acquired taste but Courtney Pine has impressively kept the flame of British jazz burning at the highest level for the last couple of decades.
And this week he is returning to his familiar hunting ground of Camden Town’s Jazz Café to perform works from his latest album Resistance.
Joined by Cameron Pierre on guitars, Robert Fordjour on drums, Darren Taylor on bass, Chris Jerome on piano and Omar Puente, this is inevitably going to be a lively and exuberant affair, giving Pine all the space he needs to stun the audience with his wonderful talents.
