Mami Shikimori will perform Chopin |
Enjoy a perfect break with a great pianist
DESPITE work beginning on the £35 million revamp of
St Martin-in-the-Fields, the Trafalgar Square church is maintaining
its terrific programme of music.
One of the great joys are its free lunchtime concerts and this
week Japanese pianist Mami Shikimori, who is fresh from the
Royal College of Music.
She has performed extensively around the world and is building
a healthy back catalogue of recordings and broadcasting appearances.
In the 1pm concert tomorrow (Friday) she will be performing
Chopin and Debussy. A 45-minute concert, perfect for a break
at lunchtime. |
