PREVIEW - MATTHIAS GOERNE
Wigmore Hall
THE great German baritone Matthias Goerne appears at Wigmore Hall twice this week, providing great opportunities to see one of the world’s leading singers.
His performance of Schubert’s song cycle Winterreise, which he performed with pianist Alfred Brendel a few years ago, was an astonishing demonstration of his talents.
This week, Goerne will be singing alongside pianist Ingo Metzmacher performing songs by Schubert and Charles Ives.
The first concert on Tuesday only has a few tickets remaining, but the programme is repeated on Thursday.
It would almost be rude not to take advantage.
