Eva Schloss, centre, meets Lucy Danser who plays Anne
Frank |
Anne's stepsister at the Tower
ANNE Franks stepsister made a surprise appearance
at the Bridewell Theatre on Thursday.
Eva Schloss, 76, was a childhood playmate of the famed diarist.
Ms Schloss, who lives in Edgware, was captured by the Nazis
in 1944 and sent with her mother, to Birkenau concentration
camp in Poland.
Holocaust survivor Ms Schloss, whose mother married Annes
father Otto Frank after the war, fielded questions from the
audience after the Tower Theatre Companys production of
The Diary of Anne Frank.
Promoter Joyce Terry said: Ms Schloss talked about her
experiences in concentration camps and at one point peeled back
her shirt to show where the Nazis had branded her. It really
made the story seem real. It was fascinating.
