747s’ Borderline landing falls flat
REVIEW: 747s
Borderline
ELEGANTLY landing in London with their bright country-rock sound, the 747s played to a vocal Borderline crowd. Opening with floor filler Night and Day the band stomped through material from their debut album Zampano.
Subtly trendy, the 747s are not the conventional indie band that so many expect.
They flawlessly showcased their songs, taking influences from such bands as the Eagles and honorary Californians The Thrills, but failed to hugely inspire.
Although they were upbeat enough to entertain a merry Borderline audience, some of the songs sounded clichéd and the band just didn’t pull them off.
It’s fair to say the crowd were of the older generation, for the kids this is just not what cool is.
Good band, good gig, but nothing more.are smooth as Nutella Amy Winehouse and stadium studs Kasabian.
