String favourite
PREVIEW - ENDELLION
Wigmore Hall
ONE of my favourite string quartets, the Endellion,
are making a reappearance at Wigmore Hall this week, performing
Beethoven, Janacek and Haydn.
Haydns quartets are among the most enjoyable in the repertoire
and the Endellion are terrific exponents of his work.
Here they present his quartet in G, op 76, no. 1, alongside
Janaceks String Quartet No 1, the Kreutzer Sonata, and
Beethovens Quartet in B flat, op 130.
