GOD it’s like Christmas all over again as February – the year’s most uninspiring month – gives us the NME Awards and the Brits.
The Brit Awards is the most exciting evening on the musical calendar.
This is your chance to watch The Killers, Oasis, Snow Patrol, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Amy Winehouse and of course Take That.
The NME Awards, which will kick off in venues across London, should be the highlight of the year for indie and rock fans everywhere. Watch this space for a special feature on it next week.
Meanwhile, De La Soul are doing an amazing 11-day residency at Camden Town’s premier jazz venue the Jazz Café, beginning today (Thursday).
They’ve been around a while and considering they were supposed to do this last year and pulled out, I for one am chuffed to have them over.
Their name inspires a by-gone age in hip hop when people were out to make a difference and not just a quick buck. Which is worth paying about 30 quid for, no?
