ONE concert really worth catching at the Wigmore Hall this week is the appearance of the superlative Czech mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kozena.
Although a regular at the concert hall, only returns are available for the concert on Thursday when she appears with pianist Malcolm Martineau.
Her recordings of classical songs, particularly Bach arias and Handel’s Roman motets and Italian Cantatas are highly regarded.
But this concert presents something different and is more inspired by the music of her homeland with works by Janacek, Tomasek, Bartok and a whole host of others.
But if you want to get along you better book chase the Wigmore for returns.
