In the wings
ALISTAIR Beaton, who wrote the Trial of Tony Blair, broadcast on Channel 4 last week, whets the knife once more in a production at the Hampstead Theatre in March.
Working with the geniuses at Out of Joint theatre-company, Beaton has written a play about the Prime Minister, multiculturalism and the Establishment.
King of Hearts runs at the Hampstead Theatre from February 28 for a month.
THERE’S a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play the roles of ballet dancers Billy and Michael in the hit West End show Billy Elliot the Musical. Auditions for the parts are on Saturday in Toynbee Studios, Commercial Street in east London, at 9am.
For the less ambitious, Brave New World Theatre is looking for a new dog to ‘play the lead’ in their forthcoming production of Two Gentlemen of Verona at Theatro Technis. Contact the theatre for further details about the part.
A FAMILY showcase of the Wizard of Oz was put in jeopardy after heartless crooks ransacked members of the Garden Suburb Theatre drama group lock-up and stole their costumes.
But ‘the show must go on’ and it runs at Henrietta Barnett School from February 1. |
