Park life: Back after facelift
DUNCAN Terrace Gardens at the Angel have been officially reopened after a £350,000 makeover. New paths, plants, trees and entrances have transformed the park. A lawn was finished off with concrete slabs adorned with a rose pattern taken from the design on wallpaper at the landscapers’ office.
Neighbours, councillors and children from nearby Hanover School watched as Lib Dem leisure chief Councillor Ruth Polling cut the ribbon. Children sang Christmas carols before the crowd enjoyed mince pies and sandwiches.
Cllr Polling said: “We’re really lucky that this year the council has put £4.5million into making parks better. “What makes a park is the community that uses it so today is the official handing of the park back to the community.”
