Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 17 October 2008

Party spirit will not die

• FOR 40 years, Islington Senior Citizens’ Christmas Day Party Fund charity did some fantastic work – raising money, preparing food for the party, decorating the venue and organising entertainment.
However, for a number of reasons, including the ill health of several committee members, the charity has now dissolved.
But in true Christmas spirit, the charity’s funds of more than £7,000 have been transferred to Age Concern Islington, which will continue the excellent work of the charity.
Age Concern holds Christmas parties each year at Sotheby Mews and Drovers day centres.
This year, it will hold a further party for those aged 60 and over on Friday December 19, at 11.45am at Sotheby Mews Day Centre, in Sotheby Road, Highbury. Those wishing to attend should call 020 7281 6018 for more details and an application form.
Alan Branigan
Former vice-chairman of Islington Senior Citizens’ Christmas Day Party Fund Committee
