Estate gangs banned

TEENAGERS are to be banned from loitering on an Archway estate at night.
Police introduced a dispersal zone on Elthorne estate yesterday (Thursday), banning groups of two or more people hanging around at night. Any gangs found on the estate between 9pm and 6am will be told to leave for at least 24 hours or face arrest.
Sergeant Dean Akinola, from Hillrise Safer Neighbourhoods team, said: “This gives us extra powers to deal with people intent on making the lives of the residents a misery.” The ban was introduced after a rise in complaints about teenagers dealing drugs outside the estate shop in Holland Walk.
