Your Shout - Dallas finds players hard to understand

Published: 29 September, 2011

PRESUMABLY Tony Dallas thought that it was worth drawing our attention to the fact that he “did the jig but never sang his name” when Luca Modric opened the scoring against Liverpool.

Presumably, because he thought that it was clever. But let us say that – and judging by his columns only in his dreams – The Guardian offered him a weekly slot and vastly increased money, would he not be tempted?

Quite what is it that Modric has done, that any of us in his position would have allowed, that deserves such pathetic little displays of petulance.

I, for one, would like to understand. But I won’t be holding my breath for any enlightenment from dear Mr Dallas, who exhibits a terminal inability of having any realistic sensitivity to the life of a contemporary footballer.

Wenga-go-go!

ARSENE Wenger said he’s not concerned by Robin van Persie’s contract situation.
Why would he be?

The Arsenal captain still has two years left on his current deal and with the way the Gunners are playing I doubt Wenger will still be in charge when it expires!
