QUADRUPLE winners Phoenix have already targeted one clear goal this season, retaining all their trophies.

The unstoppable side dominated the Camden Sunday League last season as they won the Division One title, the Challenge Cup, the Senior Cup and the President’s Trophy.

Dave Harber’s side, who kick-off their campaign this weekend against AFC Shooters, are already back on the trophy trail after winning an eight-a-side pre-season tournament on Sunday.

Leading scorer Anthony Clarke continued where he left off last season as he grabbed both goals in the final as Phoenix beat hosts Highgate 2-1 to lift the trophy.

Afterwards manager Dave said: “We’re looking forward to the new season. It’s been boring not playing football, now we just want to get the ball rolling. We’re defending everything, and with no disrespect to our opponents if teams are going to beat us they are going to have to be very good.”

Returning Reddot manager Micky Dowsett will be among those looking to bring an end to Phoenix’s reign. After a year out of the game, the Dots take on AFC Brasenose in their opening fixture.

“We’re relishing the challenge,” said Micky. “I’m really looking forward to putting on my boots again and the boys are hoping they’ll be celebrating a few goals this season. We’re definitely here to challenge for trophies again, and deep down we know we can beat anyone. Overall we’re just chuffed to be back.”
