Your Shout - Spurs stay in Arsenal’s shadow!

Published: 12 May, 2011

FUNNY isn’t it that no matter how bad things are for the Arsenal, Tottenham always manage to be that bit worse!

This season it’s status quo again – Spurs have managed not to qualify for the Champions League. Once in 50 years isn’t too bad, I suppose.

Not only have they managed to finish below Arsenal – yet again – but they’ve not performed as well as Arsenal despite having spent more on players this term.

Of course, the games between the north London clubs have resulted in a win for each and a draw, including Arsenal’s 4-1 victory at a rapidly emptying White Hart Lane that knocked them out of the Carling Cup.

Their exit from the Champions League was another humiliation, unlike Arsenal’s – who won at home and lost away to arguably the best team on the planet.

All the Spurs rhetoric regarding “the balance of power” has come to the sad and inevitable conclusion: Spurs are worse than Arsenal.

I expect we will read the usual excuses in the comments page, but let’s face it, Spurs flatter to deceive time after time.

In a season where, I will gladly admit, Arsenal have been poor, Spurs have still been unable to come out on top.
