ARSENAL Ladies will play French side Olympique Lyonnais in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League after their thrilling encounter against Linkoping.

The quarter-final against Linkoping was finely poised after Ellen White’s stunning half-volley was cancelled out by Linda Sällström in the first-leg.

Showing great spirit, Laura Harvey’s team twice came from behind in Sweden thanks to strikes from Rachel Yankey and Katie Chapman, levelling the game 3-3 on aggregate to send the Gunners through on away-goals.

Arsenal were heading out of the competition until Chapman popped up with a long-range effort 11 minutes from time to salvage a spot in the semi-finals, with the first leg at Boreham Wood FC on Saturday, April 16, at 3pm.
