Local football - Youth round-up - Torriano United players get hands on league commemorative medals

PLAYERS from Torriano United were the first to get their hands on a special Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League commemorative winners’ medal on Saturday. 

They beat Regent’s Park 3-0 thanks to goals from Dillian Toms, Hayden Miller and George Power to win the Under-10s ‘C’ Division on goal-difference. As a reward the newly-formed side were presented with exclusive medals to mark the 10th anniversary of the league. 

The action-packed afternoon also saw under-9s battling it out in two separate Challenge Cup competitions. 

The Hill ‘A’ were the proud winners of one of the cups, beating sister club Belsize 3-2 on penalties. Josh Klein made a vital save in the shoot-out to hand The Hill the advantage, allowing Eden Prime to score the winning penalty. Eden, 8, was also named Player-of-the-Tournament. 

In the other cup competition Billy Hayes and Raul Mills were both on target as Pro Touch Community beat The Heath 3-0 in the final. Raul, 9, put in a series of outstanding displays to earn the Player-of-the-Tournament Award. 

• In the Camden & Islington Youth League goals from Joseph Perez, Gabe Hann and Reece Davidson saw Regent’s Park Cougars net their first win in the friendly Under-8s Division with a 3-1 victory over ‘A’ Class. 

The Heath were also big winners in their game against Regent’s Park Jaguars. Dion Sfarca led the way with four goals, while strike partner James Taylor scored a hat-trick. Charlie Caton-Jones, Cameron Hannah and Jonelle Hall were also all on target as the Heath won 10-0. 

In the Under-9s ‘A’ Division, Archie Gadsdon scored two fantastic free-kicks as Angel Islington won 2-0 against FDS. 

In the Under-10s ‘A’ Division, unbeaten Isledon Wolves moved a step closer to the title with a 2-0 win over Westway. Nathan Carlyle was the hero with two fine finishes, taking the rampant Wolves side to 51 goals in just 11 matches. 

In the Under-11s ‘A’ Division, Jerry Gyebi, Arran Graham and Jayden Rose all scored as Isledon Wolves beat Angel Islington 3-1. Wolves wrapped up a magnificent weekend when their under-12s strolled into the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup with a 4-0 win over Westway thanks to goals from Tommy Righletio, Andrew Mason, Jason Rice and Basam Menhal. 

In the Under-14s Challenge Cup, Locomotive Youth came from a goal down to beat St Pancras. Charles Prince equalised before Mason Brooks came off the bench to turn the game around, playing a part in goals for Shane Cojocarel, George Yianni and Alex Tegene as Locomotive wrapped up a 4-1 victory.
