With just one weekend left to go before another pulsating season in the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League comes to an end, there’s no signs of the action letting up
ON Saturday scores of trophy-chasing teams played their part in the 10th anniversary celebrations when they took part in one of two under-11s Challenge Cups.
Islington’s AC Juniors, who are based at the Sobell Leisure Centre in Hornsey Road, joined the honours list after beating Angel Islington 2-0 in their final.
Joshua Mohamed opened the scoring from close range, before Franklin Domi settled matters with an outstanding individual goal.
The striker collected the ball on the half-way line, raced past two defenders and smashed his shot across the keeper.
Midfielder Joshua Evra capped a magnificent afternoon for AC Juniors when he was voted Player-of-the-Tournament.
In the second under-11s finals of the day, VCC Islington put in an outstanding team display as they beat The Hill 2-0 to lift the cup.
