FRIENDS, families and fans from South Hampstead Cricket Club will be coming together on Sunday to remember the club’s late chairman Dipak Parmar (pictured).

Among the guests paying their respects will be renowned West Indies Test batsman Alvin Kallicharan, who has joined the club’s ranks as a colts coach.

To celebrate Dipak’s commitment to the club, organisers will be screening Fire in Babylon, an inspirational film about Caribbean cricket. There will then be a Q&A session with Kallicharan, before cricket fans get the chance to enjoy two limited-overs matches featuring South Hampstead’s Colts versus Perivale Colts and Trinidad and Tobago UK XI versus Barbados UK XI.

The highlight of the day will see a special awards ceremony for South Hampstead‘s brightest colt players, which are being dedicated to Mr Parmar.

The action gets underway at 10am at South Hampstead Cricket Club in Milverton Road, Brondesbury Park, NW6. Family tickets cost £10, or it’s £6 for adults and £3 for children.
