CHAMPIONS Isledon Wolves rounded off their campaign in the Camden and Islington Youth League in spectacular style on Friday with a seven-goal salvo to sink Regent’s Park.
The under-13s side have been in scintillating form this season, finishing 14 points clear of their closest rivals at the top of the ‘B’ Division table.
Jourdi Massueme gave Wolves an early lead in their final outing at Market Road, and was soon celebrating a second as the free-scoring side went goal-crazy. Tommy Smith and Alfie Costello also both grabbed two goals each, while skipper Jermaine Owusu added his name to the scoresheet to complete the 7-0 rout.
The result capped an unbeaten season for Wolves, who won 17 of their 18 games and scored a staggering 61 goals along the way.
Wolves have already started preparing for next season, and are searching for players aged nine to 15 years old. Open trials are being held at Market Road in Islington next Saturday, June 18, between noon and 2pm.
• MEANWHILE St Pancras are also looking for new players for their under-10s and under-11s next season, along with a goalkeeper for their under-9s side. Anyone interested should call Barry Archer on 07806 776 984 for details.
