JUBILANT Hilda Mbleto scooped Team Camden’s first gold medal at this year’s London Youth Games on Thursday at Mile End Stadium, Tower Hamlets.
The 17-year-old Jack Taylor School pupil added to the borough’s early medal haul with a victorious performance in the girls’ Severe Learning Disability (SLD) Long Jump event.
Adding to the celebrations, she also collected a bronze medal in the SLD Javelin event.
Speaking on Hilda’s behalf, Camden team manager Anthony Doherty said: “She was very happy after winning a medal, but it was when she physically got her medal and she saw it, she became really excited.”
