Hot-shot kids back on the goal trail

AFTER almost a month of waiting, scores of talented young footballers finally returned to action this week following an extended winter break.

Lyndhurst showed a real hunger for goals in the Under-8s Division of the Camden and Islington Youth League on Saturday at Market Road.

Taking on rivals ‘A’ Class, the young Lyndhurst side netted a scorching 4-3 victory thanks to a double strike from Frankie Sabine and goals from Ben Julian and Emmanuel Abdia.

Superb defending by plucky Harry Howe helped Lyndhurst hold on to their thrilling victory.

The Heath also picked up a good win in the Under-8s age group as they beat Islington Admiral 3-0 thanks to a brace from James Taylor and a strike from Fabien Graham.

In the Under-10s ‘A’ Division, star player Dylan Brown struck twice as Isledon Wolves picked up the points against Recreativo Juniors.

Deon Marshall was also on target as Wolves stretched their unbeaten run to seven games with a 3-1 victory.

Isledon shared the spoils in the Under-11s ‘A’ Division after being held to a goalless draw against Belsize Youth. Keiron Loughley put in an excellent shift in the heart of the Wolves’ defence, thwarting a wave of Belsize attacks.

In the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League, Angel Islington returned to action with a 4-0 win over Hampstead.

The under-11s side produced an excellent team performance, with Luca Pedicone, Alfie Watts, Nashoor Amanuel and Elliot Greene grabbing the goals.

In Division Four of the Harrow Under-12s League, Isledon Wolves went goal-crazy in their match against Total Football Academy. Tommy Righelato led the charge with a classy hat-trick, while Mark Ikua and Gio Baffo scored two each.

Jason Rice, Bassam Menhal and Max Stipanovsky were also all on target in a 10-0 victory.

In the Under-14s Cheshunt Youth League midfielder George Yianni scored twice as Camden-based side Locomotive Youth beat Puma 2000. George Fitzsimmons, Shane Cojocarel and Alex Tegene also all scored as Locomotive ran out 5-0 winners.
