Your Shout - Osley’s crow brought tears to my eyes

I SEE that Richard Osley is harping on about the “Invincibles” yet again in his Crow.

To be honest, I couldn’t read the entire thing as when I yawn I tend to get tears in my eyes and I find it hard to focus! We all know that Arsenal went 49 games unbeaten because whenever you ask what the club has won recently, that’s the first thing Gooners tell you!

Don’t get me wrong. As far as achievements go, I think it is something to be proud of. As a Spurs fan I will even admit it was a miraculous feat I am pleased to be able to say I saw in my lifetime – and I don’t have to grit my teeth to say, well done you Gunners.

That Invincible team, however, is long gone. I doubt that we’ll ever see another side go on such an impressive run, and that includes future Arsenal teams.

For Osley to criticise Manchester United for losing their unbeaten run against Wolves reeked of a pathetic attempt to hold on to past glory.

Let’s not forget about how Robert Pires blatantly dived against Portsmouth to win a penalty and keep Arsenal’s unbeaten run going. The Gonners can’t hide from the fact that they had to cheat to achieve their so-called “glorious” run.
