PLAYERS from Regent’s Park will be hoping to tip the scales in their favour on Monday when they take on Futebol de Salao at Market Road.

To say the under-10s side (above) are having an evenly split season would be an understatement. In their opening eight games they’ve won four and lost four, a series of results that leaves them fourth in a league of seven teams.

In this weeks action Isledon Wolves scored nine goals to move nine points clear at the top of the Under-10s ‘A’ Division.

The runaway leaders have dropped just two points so far this season, scoring 47 goals and conceding just five in their opening nine games.

Wolves were at their very best against Primrose Hill on Friday, with Jack Cheeseman putting in a masterclass of finishing with a stunning hat-trick. Deon and Nicky Marshall matched each other goal-for-goal as they both bagged a brace, while Teon Levy-Wright and Nathan Carlyle completed the 9-0 rout.

In the friendly Under-8s Division George Stephens scored twice as newcomers The Heath sealed a 2-1 win over Islington Admiral Youth.

In the Under-12s ‘A’ Division, Isledon Wolves became the first side to take points off leaders ‘A’ Class after the two sides battled out a 1-1 draw. Jason Rice gave Wolves the lead with a brilliant free-kick early in the second half. But with just minutes remaining ‘A’ Class showed championship-winning spirit as they scored an equaliser to share the spoils.

In the Under-14s ‘A’ Division an understrength Locomotive Youth side produced the performance of their season so far to net a 1-0 win over Crown and Manor.

Injury and illness had ravaged the Locomotive squad and, with only seven players available, they were forced to play the entire match a man short.

The only goal of the game came when Shane Cojocarel latched on to a brilliant pass from George Yianni, rounded the keeper and rolled the ball home from an acute angle.

Goals from Durim Sslamniku, Conor O’Shea and EJ Gyebi saw Isledon Wolves book their place in the quarter-finals of the Under-14s Challenge Cup with a convincing 3-0 win over Regent’s Park.
