THE Cesc Fabregas saga finally seems to be nearing an end after Barcelona reportedly renewed their bid for the Arsenal captain yesterday (Wednesday).
The Catalan club previously offered about £30million for the midfielder, which was some way short of Arsenal’s £40million valuation.
The Gunners are resigned to losing the 24-year-old Spaniard, and want an agreement to be reached as soon as possible to provide them time to find a replacement before the transfer window closes on August 31.
With that in mind Barcelona are confident a deal can be wrapped up before the weekend.
The money generated would be reinvested in new players, with boss Arsene Wenger keen to sign either Everton’s
Phil Jagielka or Bolton’s Gary Cahill.
