MORE than 100 children with disabilities and their families were given the chance to enjoy an action-packed afternoon at the Talacre Sports Centre in Kentish Town, writes Steve Barnett.

The free Active for All Aiming High Fun Day gave youngsters the chance to have a go at a series of exciting activities, including archery, gymnastics, badminton, table tennis and football.

There was also a chance to race around the artificial sports pitch on a collection of specially adapted cycles.

It took a tremendous team effort to organise the event, with groups from LB Camden Sports Development and Sport and Physical Activity Service, DCATCH, MOSAIC Short Breaks, Camden School Sport Partnership, Weekend Arts College, LB Camden Parks and Spectrum all joining forces to make the day possible.

The debut event proved so popular back in September that it was only a matter of time before the fun day was hosted again.

Councillor Tulip Siddiq, Camden’s cabinet member for culture, said: ‘This was a fantastic day for disabled children and their families.

“I am delighted that this event gave local families the opportunity to come together and take part in sports and physical activities, while enjoying a great day out in their local community.”
