IN last week’s Crow Richard Osley criticised Spurs fans for leaving early during their Carling Cup defeat against Arsenal. As ever, he’s ruffled a few feathers...
Distorted and smug reporting
TYPICALLY smug and very distorted reporting from Osley!
I too hate it when fans leave early when their team’s losing, particularly to hated rivals. But who does he think he’s kidding that Arsenal fans wouldn’t have done the same if the shoe was on the other foot?
So Arsenal’s fans are great are they? Perhaps Mr Osley needs reminding that their previous home ground wasn’t called “The Library” for nothing. But compared to the soul-less, sanitised Emirates, “The Library” was like Celtic v Rangers in the 80s. Nice to see those same fantastic fans booing Arsene Wenger and his boys after their defeat to West Brom on Saturday.
What would happen to these Johnny-come-Latelies if, God forbid, they lost two games at home?

Blame Wenger not Almunia!
I WAS at the Arsenal on Saturday when they lost 3-2 to West Brom and never in my 70-plus-years of supporting the club can I recall a worse goalkeeping display.
Yet I don’t blame Manuel Almunia. I blame the obdurate Mr Wenger. It was wrong for fans to abuse Almunia. They should have turned their anger on the manager, who has failed to find a better replacement. I did notice the chants of “There’s only one Arsene Wenger” were missing!

All quiet on West Brom front, eh?
HOW dare Richard Osley criticise Tottenham supporters for leaving early during the Carling Cup defeat against Arsenal. Week in, week out countless fans sprint from the stands early no matter what the score is.
Perhaps Osley should have tried watching the game instead of spending his time fixating on the crowd, unless watching his beloved Arsenal wasn’t entertaining enough?
Besides, I’d rather have fans that sing their hearts out for 85 minutes and leave a little early than ones who sit there in silence eating their prawn sandwiches.
I didn’t hear the Gooners making too much noise when they lost to West Brom on Saturday. In fact when I watched the highlights I saw plenty of empty seats before the game had ended. I suppose Mr Osley didn’t notice that!
